TOWNSVILLE

The Townsville Missionaries
...they are GREAT!

We had a great training in Townsville with our four missionaries and the three assistants.  We are amazed at the strength of these great young men and women who are exceptional representatives of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  They have strong testimonies and are filled with faith.

We had a warm welcome in Townsville

We thought this was interesting....we can't imagine how the bull became the "Droughtmaster" in Australia (maybe it is just in Townsville where we found this statue), but we are sure there is a great story about it.  (If anyone knows, please enlighten us).

  1. The Droughtmaster (originally wanted to be called beefmaster) is the breed of cattle introduced in 1900 or so to cope with harsh Australian Clinates. Now it is the 2nd most numerous breed in Northern Australia. Here is a little u-tube history.

In 2012 there was a huge 50 year celebration for Droughtmaster breeders with a huge jubilee for the "breed of the future".

Probably more information that you wanted--but I like learning about cattle so there you go. Love seeing pictures of your new home and will love reading and learning of Australia while you are there.
    Thanks so much for sharing!
