SENIOR MISSIONARY FAMILY HOME EVENING: June 2016

OUR FAMILY HAS ENLARGED....FAMILY HOME EVENING IN THE MISSION IS WONDERFUL!

...and we couldn't be more grateful for the incredible "Brothers & Sisters" we have come to include in our Mission Family.  These are the greatest Senior Missionaries ever!  This is the group of "seasoned" missionaries who fill many capacities:  Full Time Senior Missionaries, Stake Service Missionaries, Live at Home full time Missionaries, and Stake Missionaries.  We had everyone  except the missionaries who are serving in the Northern Zone. 

What an army!

We were joined by one of the very first couples we met who were serving in the mission office when we arrived, who are from Brisbane.  

MISSION MIRACLE: PATIENCE AND PERSISTANCE June 2016

There are many missionaries from the Australia Brisbane Mission....and many members of the Eight Mile Plains Stake who are grateful for the baptism of this wonderful man!  He worked hard to know for himself that this was the path for him to take.  How grateful we are for his great light in the Gospel....the church needs his kindness, his knowledge and his love!

TOWNSVILLE TIME: JUNE 2016

We loved our time in Townsville for District Conference with President & Sister Mayer DISTRICT PRESIDENT  
and Elder & Sister Dudfield AREA SEVENTY  
and the wonderful Saints in the Townsville District WHICH INCLUDES TOWNSVILLE, CHARTERS TOWERS, MOUNT ISA, AND AYR 
There were so many wonderful things that happened during the weekend:  

• Rescue Visits with some great Saints

• Training with the Priesthood and Relief Society Auxillary Leaders
• Testimonies and Talks
• Special BAPTISM & Confirmation
• Meetings with recent converts & the GREAT YOUTH
• Linger Longer
• Farewell hugs & thoughtful gifts....THANK YOU!

MT ISA....JUNE 2016

Flying into Mount Isa for the last time was an emotional experience...it is the outback and the most out in the back of the mission that you could get...but we love it!   

• Maybe because the red dirt and barren surroundings remind us of our home in St. George, Utah. 
• Maybe because it was one of the first places we visited when we came to Australia. 
• Maybe because of the hot sun that warms you to the core when visiting there.  
• Definitely because of the greatest Saints who live here.....they are dedicated, loving people who work hard together to stay strong in the Gospel.   

There will always be a special place in our hearts for 

this unique place......"the ISA"

We just know there were some excited family waiting for the arrival of our latest departing missionaries:

It is amazing how there can be sadness and happiness on both sides of the world at the same time, as we say goodbye to these GREAT Sisters here in Australia, we know someone is anxious to greet them in America.

MIGHTY MISSION: June 2016

We were excited to welcome a few of the ABM MIGHTY MISSIONARIES (those who have served valiantly in the Australia Brisbane Mission during our tenure and returned home). 
We invited anyone to come for a Mighty Mission where they would be able to stay at the mission home, snap gravity in the morning, study, and work with the missionaries in the mission.  WE are so grateful for those who could come and join us for this wonderful weekend....we had such an amazing experience!!!

 

CHINESE MISSIONARY UPDATE

We are thrilled with the wonderful work the Mandarin speaking missionaries are doing in the Chinese program.  There are three specific areas they work:  Isle of Capri in the Gold Coast, Sunnybank in Eight Mile Plains, and River Terrace in Brisbane City.  We are amazed at the dedication to learning the language (for those who are called to learn the Mandarin language).  We also are most impressed with the way they all work together as countries and cultures unite to help each other in this great work of salvation among the Chinese people.  We love these great missionaries!
