DEPARTING MISSIONARIES

We have bid farewell to another wonderful group of missionaries who will forever be changed by the experience they have had for the past 18 months/2 years
(AND we will be forever changed because of our experience with them).
We know it has undoubtedly been the most incredible experience of their life.
We are most grateful for their service and wish them well in life.
'TILL WE MEET AGAIN...'

Our final meal together...love these good Elders!

MISSION MIRACLE

This WONDERFUL woman is from Beijing! We found her at English class. she said she was already following JESUS CHRIST  but we just kept meeting with her she finally went to church with us and she said for the first time in her life she felt love. She is 67 years old! She has been to so many churches but she said she felt the spirit every time at our CHURCH: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

MISSION MIRACLES

This past week, this great man was baptised. We found him about a month ago on the street. We talked to his friend about how Jesus Christ could bless his life. He over heard and ran up to us and said "I want to get closer to God. Where is your church I want to come tomorrow". When we met with him the next day we found out that people including his friends have been taking advantage of him. A little while before we met him he saw a red moon and made a wish that he would meet some true friends. He heard a lot of rumors about our church but when he saw the smiles on our faces he decided to see for himself. After the course of the next 4 weeks we taught him the lessons and he has stopped smoking and HE WAS BAPTIZED

TRIP OF A LIFETIME....

You are never too old for 'FIRSTS' in life....
We had a wonderful visit from my parents, Rollie & Phyllis Bestor, who at age 82 traveled from Salt Lake City to Brisbane Australia (21 hour experience) to see what their daughter and son-in-law were doing so far away from home.  We had an amazing time together having them a part of the Australia Brisbane Mission
for ten days.  They enjoyed beautiful weather, singing birds, missionaries, lovely flowers and trees, missionaries, trip to the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, missionaries, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary holding a koala and feeding the kangaroos, Church at the Chermside Ward, Eumundi Market, Mission Leadership Council meeting with missionaries, Southbank and Ferry on the Brisbane River, missionaries, and lots of wonderful evenings with the cool breeze and sunsets.
It was so incredible to share this experience with them.
I am so grateful for the decision you made with our family to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints...my life is forever changed!
Love YOU dear parents
Portside where the cruise ships dock...."FIRST night in Brisbane"

It was a beautiful day....little did we know that this very day at the time we were cruising up the Brisbane River,  Prince Andrew and Kate were stopping at Southbank for their Brisbane visit; a "FIRST" for them and a "FIRST" for us.
"FIRST" time meeting my dear friend, Jackie

Always making friends....Phyllis met Mary who was singing at the Davis Park Market "FIRST" thing on Saturday morning.

"FIRST" time feeding a kangaroo, and petting a kangaroo

Feeding the kangaroos (never did use the wheelchair, but used it to push).

She was seriously singing to the Emu ("FIRST" time even seeing one)--they had quite a connection.
First time feeding the Lorikeets....and having them land on your head!

Couldn't come to Australia and not have a "FIRST" time holding a Koala

FIRST time in the beautiful Gold Coast:  Rainbow Beach

"FIRST" time seeing a custard apple....along with other new things to eat

MISSION TOUR BOWEN/WHITSUNDAY FHE

We had a special gathering for the Saints in
Bowen/Whitsunday branch on Monday evening for
FHE (family home evening).

The evening was filled with sunshiny smiles, interested investigators, lost lambs, cheerful children, spiritual sermons, fabulous food and the most angelic singing that only comes from a gathering of Polynesian people.
It was a
beautiful,
delicious
evening.

We had food there that we have never experienced before....unique wonderful meat, fish, salads, breads, desserts and a slushy, fruity drink that is a Polynesian favorite:
OTAI

A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR SENIOR COUPLES WHO PLANNED, ORGANIZED, AND HELPED MAKE THIS EVENING SO WONDERFUL!
