Our wonderful Cairns District welcomed home another great missionary:

They have a wonderful family back home who will support them as they are here serving and we appreciate the sacrifice  that these Senior Couples make and that their families make to be here!

MISSION MIRACLE

THIS GREAT NEW CONVERT was found through "HUNTING" by Elders Alofa'ae & Packer. His story begins 2 years prior to our visit when he had 2 Sister missionaries show up at his door. They introduced themselves as Missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and invited him to hear the wonderful "Happy" message we share. Since the sisters were "Pink Washed" out of Hervey Bay there was no contact with Thomas until mid - January of 2014. With a return appointment we decided to offer service to him. The offering of service interested him even more as he saw the Genuine love we had for the Saviour and in his own words said "If there was a Mormon Church nearby I would join it".  Since that day he has been really receptive to the message and teachings of Jesus Christ, leaving behind his addictions to Tobacco and coffee.

MISSION MIRACLE

When we first met this new convert, we were teaching his sister and helping her return to church. At that time he showed no real interest in the church, and was not really interested in meeting with us, but we continued to return to meet with his sister. Then, when he finally did meet with us, he gave us a riddle. "Can God make a burrito so hot that he himself cannot eat it?" or, in other words 'if God is all-powerful, can he make a situation where he can't do something?' He then promised that if we could answer the riddle, he would come to church, read the Book of Mormon, and be baptised.
THIS IS NOT THE REASON WHY HE WAS EVENTUALLY BAPTIZED, although the conversation was fun, and helped open discussions. The main reason why he has been baptised is because from the beginning, he has been an example of diligence. When he has committed to come to church, he comes, when he commits to read, he reads, and while he has been doing all of this, the testimony that he had before began to emerge. It has been a miracle that we met him, and encouraged that conversion, and in the end he was baptised on the same day as his 8-yr. old niece.

MISSION MIRACLE

We always see this family at church; one day the mom come to us and said she wanted her children to be taught and we set a date for a month.  These two girls have a strong faith about the church and the Book of Mormon, and they want to be baptised for themselves and for their God.
