Elder To'ia and I followed up on a prompting to visit a family in the ward. They said she wants her son to receive the Aaronic priesthood and eventually serve a mission. We met with the family 7 times in 3.5 weeks and baptised the 2 children. The family has returned to full activity and you can see the change in the older boy; he glows with the gospel all of the time now. He loves to share how much he has read in the
Book of Mormon.

MISSION MIRACLE
The missionaries tracted into this part-member family and had been teaching these children a few months ago. The son had no desire to be baptised, but through the faith of his mother and continual perseverance in taking them to church he has made friends and was baptised on the 19th of October with his 8 year old sister. the mother told us when the missionaries found her she realized it was time to come back to the church she was a convert of at the age 11.
We could see the Light of the Gospel in the eyes of these children.

GLADSTONE COUPLE & FRIENDS
ELDER & SISTER FENTON with their friends The Smiley's, who have served a mission in Indonesia, where they spent most of their time in Pakastan. They are currently the directors of the Cody Mural Mission....they claim it is the Church's best kept secret...The magnificent Cody Mural covers a domed ceiling 36 feet in diameter and
18 feet to the top of the dome. Perfectly blended into the mural are
selected historical scenes from the first 70 years of The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Fenton's have been working miracles with the Sister Missionaries in Gladstone. They just radiate love, happiness, and service. We are so grateful for all that they are doing....THANK YOU!

PURPLE SPLENDOR
We have been in awe at the beautiful purple splendor of the JACARANDAS TREES here in Brisbane. There is a park, Eagle Farm Park, that is filled with blooming Jacarandas trees and we had a chance to visit this park and take a few pictures.
Jacarandas
Australian streets are awash with the magnicient purple-blue blooms of jacarandas (Jacaranda mimosifolia) in late spring and early summer. As well as being superb street trees, jacarandas look stunning on their own as a specimen tree in an open lawn, where their fallen flowers form a colourful carpet of blue.Lots of people think jacarandas are natives, but they’re not. They are native to Brazil, where they are deciduous, not because of cold winters, but because of the monsoonal wet and dry seasons. They briefly drop their leaves at the end of the dry season, then leaf up again when the rains come. These trees can reach a height of around 10-15m, and a spread of the same size, so you need to be careful where you plant them, as they can extend a long way.
Thanks for the information on the Jacarandas tree: http://www.burkesbackyard.com.au

MISSION MIRACLE
About 2 months ago in our area the work was not moving very well and our teaching pool was down to nothing, so we decided to fast that a non-member would show up at church the next day. When we went to church the next day Allister walked in off the street wanting to know the truth. We started to teach him and watch him change greatly over time. He went from being an unhappy person to a super happy person. He said after his baptism that he has never felt so great and so clean. He has a strong testimony that the church is true! He loves the gospel and it is very apparent that he does. It has also been a strong testimony builder as a missionary to see the growth of someone because of the gospel.
