MUD YAKKA

On the 15th of April, 40 missionaries from the Eight Mile Plains, Logan, Coomera, and Chinese Zones assisted in a massive clean up project at the Logan River Tree Farm in Beenleigh. As a part of this grand effort the missionaries got stuck into it, armed not with their Book of Mormon, but a few shovels.

The original request came from the Logan City Council to the Eight Mile Plains stake after surrounding areas were flooded due to heavy rainfall.

Through Facebook and the church's Mormon Helping-Hands Project, hundreds flooded in to assist in the clean up to save the business from going under. Over the course of an estimated four hours, 300 wheelbarrow loads of mud were wheeled to a bigger pile for disposal. Areas were cleared out much faster due to the enormity of help that came from the surrounding community.
